Direct links enable direct communication between two components without having to go through a control center.

The disadvantage, however, is that no programmatic influence can be exerted on the actions.

For example, if window/door contacts are directly linked to a heating valve or wall thermostat, opening the window or door ensures that the thermostat valve(s) assigned to the wall thermostat is controlled.

It is also conceivable that, on the one hand, the thermostat valves close when the window or door is open, but the light should also be switched off during mosquito season to keep the pests outside, but outside of mosquito season the light should remain on.
This scenario can only be implemented with a program because there is one condition here - is it mosquito season? – must be checked in order to trigger the desired action based on the result.

A direct link therefore always makes sense if no additional conditions are to be formulated than those specified by the link.

To create a direct link, click on the “Programs and Shortcuts” button and select the first submenu item “Direct Links”.

A list of all devices opens, from which one of the two link partners can be taken over by clicking on the right “Selection” button.

The second link partner is also selected in the same way. Only those devices that can establish a link with the first link partner are displayed.

Since a window contact was selected as the first device, heating valves, wall thermostats and switching actuators are now automatically available for selection.

After clicking on the “Select” button, both devices appear next to each other in a new display.

Click on the “Create and edit” button at the bottom left

opens a configuration window.

Here you can set the lowering temperature to which the heating valve should regulate when the window is open, standard value is 5 °C.

If settings have been adjusted or the link should be saved, this can be done by clicking on the “OK” button at the bottom left.

Now additional links can be created in the same way.
