Shamanisms include all ethnic religions that have their origins in Siberia and are practiced there by Altaians, Buryats, Evenks, Yakuts, Nenets, but also European Sami.
Shamanism derives from the Evenki word šaman (to know, to see through) and describes the general existence of necromancers in different cultures who have connections to the spirit world using trance-induced techniques.
According to the classic shamanic representation, the cosmos is multi-layered (at least three-layered), i.e. made up of at least three worlds. The upper and lower worlds are home to good and evil spirits. The world axis connects all three worlds with each other and enables the soul, which is independent of the body, to visit the spirit world using animal spirits in order to restore the balance of the worlds that has been disturbed by problems in conversation with the spirit world.
In order to gain access to the necessary states of consciousness, in addition to taking consciousness-altering substances (except in Siberian regions), fasting, hypnosis, meditation, sleep deprivation, trance are used, accompanied by drums (210 - 230 bpm) and percussion rhythms (3.5 – 4.4 Hz, corresponding to delta/theta waves in the EEG), dance rituals, etc. Conjuring ghosts depends on choosing the right place and the right time. In the ecstasy itself, depending on the region, there is talk of possession by a spirit or the exit of one's own soul.
The obsession is predominantly reported in the border areas of Buddhism and Islam, exclusively in Southeast Asia and Africa. It manifests itself in supernatural physical strength, convulsions, talking and screaming in incomprehensible languages, foaming, raging, accompanied by a vehement increase in all bodily functions.
The departure of the soul from the body is manifested by an abnormal reduction in bodily functions, a shallowing of breathing, physical rigidity and a dulling of the senses.
What both forms have in common is an ecstatic trance in which the person affected experiences real sensations in comparatively increased intensity and hallucinated spirit beings.
Rituals are held, for example, for protection from disease or harm, rain, abundant fishing or good harvest. Shamans are responsible for leading religious festivals, diagnosing illnesses and curing them, driving away evil spirits, purifying souls and prophesying.
Appearance or reality?
Although shamanisms usually want to bring about good, they still bring people under the spell of “evil” spirits. Similar to the supposedly “good” white magic, which is not “good” because it is called white and not black, but also leads to the power of demons.
Moses already found clear words for those who turned to necromancers and interpreters (Leviticus 20:6). He becomes even more specific in Deuteronomy 18:10 – 12: “10 There shall not be found among you anyone who causes his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or a divinator, or a divinator, or a conjurer, or a sorcerer, someone who addresses the dead. 12 For whoever does such a thing is an abomination to the LORD...“. (Schlachter translation)
In Ephesians 6:12 Paul writes “for our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world rulers of the darkness of this age, against the spiritual [powers] of wickedness in the heavenly [regions].(Schlachter translation)
This makes it clear that the fallen angels (demons), with Satan as the world ruler [from] darkness, want to exert their power and subjugate people to themselves. The potpourri of diverse options is almost inexhaustible and extremely tempting for those searching. Ultimately, healing is promised and the solution to many problems is promised. Happiness and contentment, wealth, etc., are all on the menu. You should make yourself comfortable and enjoy it! Or better yet, not?
With demons there is appearance, but with Jesus Christ there is reality!
Anyone who truly seeks happiness, forgiveness and salvation, health and contentment, help in times of need and final salvation, without selling their soul, is truly safe in his arms with faith in Jesus. No power of darkness can harm him there. Psalm 50:15 confirms exactly this: “… call on me in the day of trouble, then I will save you, and you shall honor me!“. (Schlachter translation)
