GPS tracking of vehicles has been standard in various areas for years. Cash and valuables transport, even freight forwarding companies, use economically optimized tracking systems to coordinate.
Motorhomes, on the other hand, are usually not equipped with this as standard.
Increasingly smaller GPS technology enables precise positioning, including geofencing, SMS sending of position data and live tracking with speed data.
The prices for GPS technology as well as for SIM cards and tracking services have now fallen to affordable levels. The SIM card on offer can be used worldwide and comes with unlimited data volume. This puts the price-performance ratio in a very acceptable range compared to standard SIM card contracts.
The SIM card is already registered and only requires activation. The annual quota only runs once activated.
Swisstrack© offers a range of devices that are available in the shop as Everything included package are currently described in more detail for 129.90 euros. The SIM card for worldwide use is currently offered for 34.90 euros. The small trackers for pets have a magnetic 5V USB port (we came up with these trackers through our two Huskies), and a pluggable 12V cable connection for permanent car installation.
For optimal reception conditions, the tracker should be mounted on the vehicle roof. So that everyone doesn't immediately see the tracker and remove it if it's up to no good, you can hide it under a standard cover for a cable roof duct - which is already necessary for the power supply cable. With magnetically held charging cable connections, it makes sense to secure the magnetic plug against unintentional loosening.
